a few more photos from Oaxaca Mexico (1998)

Here are a few more pictures from my trip to Oaxaca Mexico in 1998. These are not related to Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead), which is what we in town for.

Me in Zocalo having a few beers before calling it a night (no, those were not ALL my bottles). I'm drawing on a balloon animal that some local kids were carrying.

ABOVE: church celing - there are countless churches in Oaxaca and they are all worth seeing.

ABOVE: A mezcal shop just outside one of the big markets. Now that I'm better versed in the joys (and varieties) of mezcal I would love go back here. I picked as bottle at random and it ended up being the same (and only) brand carried at the liquor store right down the street from my house.

Some walls in Oaxaca Mexico (1998)

While in Oaxaca in 1998 for the Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) festival I became obsessed with the beauty of the walls there. I wish we had a digital camera back then - I would have taken hundreds of photos. The camera I brought was new and I didn't even know there was a date stamp setting, so I never turned it off (or even set the date to the correct date!), which bums me out seeing it on all of the photos.
